THE ARCHITECTURE OF WELLNESS SPEAKS OF LIGHT, WATER AND DESIGN
LUME
The new LUME shower system redefines the concept of the shower space, here transformed into an immersive experience where light and matter dialogue in harmony with water. Not a simple glass shower head, but a “project that transforms the shower into a refuge for the soul”, as Davide Vercelli tells us, once again putting his name to an innovative product for the Fima Wellness catalogue.
LIGHT SETTINGS THAT BECOME A SHOWER SYSTEM
The first distinctive element of LUME is light. LUME can almost be described as a water-dispensing light, where the illumination and jet are activated separately to allow the showerhead to be used as a stand-alone light source, even when the shower is not in operation.
The cylindrical body of the shower head, in cannulated glass, captures the light and returns it through an effect of reflections and warm glows, radiating the space and enhancing the surfaces, structures and surrounding materials.
The ceiling becomes the fifth setting, as the walls reflect the iridescence of the illuminated drops, while the water amplifies the emotional effect. In this perspective, LUME underlines an important concept: the faucet is never to be an afterthought but a component to be integrated from the early stages of the concept, which here speaks of wellness in unison with lighting design.
EL VALOR DEL VIDRIO ENTRE LA TECNOLOGÍA MADE IN ITALY
Y LA UNICIDAD
LUME
The material core of the LUME is borosilicate glass, chosen for its ability to exalt transparencies and luminous depths.
Each cylinder is blown and worked by hand in the Melogranoblu workshops, forging multiple works of art that are the same yet different, an expression of a Made in Italy know-how that combines artisanal tradition and technological innovation offering uniqueness to each creation.
LUME is available in two different variants. The classic transparent cannulated glass is ideal for projects that seek lightness, purity and a more ethereal luminosity, while the mirrored bronze version, obtained through a metallisation process, exalts its material richness and orients the project towards a more ostentatious and exclusive luxury. Two complementary identities that demonstrate how much the choice of finish can decisively influence the perception of the product and consequently, the mood of the entire bathroom.
COMPOSITIONAL FREEDOM FOR CUSTOMISED WELLNESS PROJECTS
LUME emerged from the design experience of WATERDOT, a system of shower microjets to be freely combined by number and type. Now, the know-how acquired develops in terms of visual and decorative impact, consisting of three glass elements with different dimensions, able to be combined to create highly customised, even large and multifunctional shower spaces.
The designer can thus opt to insert a single shower head in the shower, capable of offering the right comfort on its own, or can opt to combine several elements to create real water lighting installations with great visual impact.
The different heights allow the system to adapt perfectly to plasterboard false ceilings, while a system of quick-coupling tubes simplifies multiple types of installation, favouring more articulated configurations.
The LUME system offers three different types of jet, already tested in the FIMA Wellness catalogue. Rain offers the classic enveloping rain effect. Energy is then for a more vigorous and nebulised contact, ideal for an invigorating massage. Laminar instead generates a full and continuous but extremely delicate flow designed to give moments of profound wellbeing.

DAVIDE VERCELLI DESIGN
Designer and engineer, Davide Vercelli founded his studio in 2005 after conducting research at the Polytechnic University of Turin. The studio focuses on product development, growth strategies, communication, and networks.
Design, beauty, responsibility, and profit are the key words that define every project.
A multidisciplinary and cross-cutting approach has allowed the studio to work alongside clients as a global consultant, dealing with product design, brand design, brand strategy, and exhibits.
Since 2013, the studio has curated and designed the main collective event at Cersaie (Aggregati, Cer-Sea, Cer-Stile, Cer-Sail, Milleluci, The Sound of Design, Famous Bathrooms, Contract Hall, Route 40), dedicated to contract and wellness.
Since 2019, it has been responsible for the design and setup of the VIP Lounge at Artefiera in Bologna, the leading international event dedicated to the art world.
He is a lecturer at IED Turin and Guest Professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan, with numerous international awards: fifteen selections for the ADI Design Index, three honorable mentions at the Compasso d’Oro, two Young & Design awards, three Design Plus awards, one Ida (International Design Awards) award, one Good Design Award, three IF Design awards, and two Ada (Archiproducts Design Awards).
He is currently the creative director of Fima Carlo Frattini.
