ST REGIS RED SEA RESORT

A private island surrounded by an unspoilt coral reef, nestled in a marine ecosystem rich in wonders. An emerging tourist destination destined to become an icon for luxury and exclusivity.
We are in Ummahat, in the heart of the Red Sea just off the coast of Saudi Arabia. it is here that the new St. Regis Red Sea Resort, which opened just last year, is located.
The hotel perfectly represents the vision of Red Sea Global, aiming to create new sustainable tourist destinations for a clientèle with refined tastes, entrusting its development to important firms in the field of architecture and interior design.
The structural project was designed by Architect Kengo Kuma, taking inspiration from the location immersed in nature, presenting Kristina Zanic Consultants with a unique work, to be completed with a bespoke interior design. At Studio Zanic, the task is to strengthen the identity of the prestigious St. Regis brand within the Marriot portfolio whilst offering an environment capable of reflecting the absolute beauty of the place and to represent an oasis of relaxation and serenity for visitors.
Having achieved the objective, the St. Regis Red Sea Resort was recently awarded at the CID Awards 2024: Hospitality, taking out prizes for the best design of the hotel rooms and the spa.
Hence, a particularly prestigious reference for FIMA tapware, chosen to furnish the bathrooms of the Resort’s luxurious overwater and beachfront villas.

ORGANIC DESIGN AND SUSTAINABILITY FOR A PROJECT OF EXCELLENCE

The St. Regis Red Sea Resort offers 90 luxuriously furnished villas that blend in with the surrounding environment. Those on the beach follow the ripples of the dunes, while the Coral Villas, erected directly on the water, draw spiral curves that resemble the shape of shells. An organic design that creates a dynamic architecture and perfectly narrates the mood of the project inspired by natural elements – the sand, sea and wind.
The interior spaces also follow the same figure, with a fluid design where walls and ceilings are often curved or inclined to create welcoming and constantly-evolving spaces. The furnishings are soft and enveloping, with made-to-measure accessories. The fabrics are natural, with textures that are pleasing to the touch. The colours are neutral, with blue, green or coral red accents that recall marine biodiversity.
All contributes to creating a sense of escape and connection with the surrounding beauty.
Particular attention is paid to materials, meticulously selected based on sustainability and compatibility with the local climate. RSG’s commitment to responsible and certified development is one of the reasons why FIMA is particularly in tune with this project.

FIMA’S SIGNATURE STANDS OUT IN LUXURY HOSPITALITY

Coral Villas and Dune Villas share fluid spaces and large openings looking out over the surrounding landscape, flooding the rooms and bathrooms with natural light.
And right in front of the windowed walls of each villa is a spectacular freestanding bathtub complete with a shower tower from the SPILLO TECH collection by FIMA.
Operation of the controls is in Cross, a finely-faceted texture that resembles a carved diamond and plays with light that reflects on each individual micro-surface. A nod to the brightness of the mosaic on the walls and the cut of the floor tiles.
For the washbasin, the TECH countertop mixer taps and the STEEL countertop solutions alternate, often in pairs on the generous pieces of furniture with double sinks.
Attention to the choice of materials is likewise reflected in the finishes of this project.
The SPILLO TECH collection is made entirely of stainless steel to more naturally adapt to the surrounding marine environment and the hospitality context, finding harmony with the STELL mixer taps in AISI316L.
